To achieve these goals we’ve created a dream team in our design department, Meet Alex and Nicole, the keys to creating your dream home.

Alex is a Lexington Native, currently living the eclectic, creative and energetic downtown heart of the city. She is constantly surrounded by inspiration every day and as a Kentucky native, is very familiar with pulling from our Kentucky pride and bringing it to your home. Alex’s inspiration for interior design started with her mother, as she watched her work in the profession her whole life. Alex graduated high school from Lexington Catholic and continued on to the University of Kentucky. Although she loves her home, her passion for interior design eventually led her to The Art Institute of Tennessee-Nashville where she graduated with a Bachelors in Interior Design.
Before BACK, Alex interned at a high-end residential, commercial and hospitality firm in Nashville. Above all her college peers, Alex won the award for Best Interior Design Portfolio out of the entire department. We are so lucky she decided to return home to Lexington after living in Nashville for four years.
Although her major lies in Interior Design, Alex is passionate about Art History and Architectural History. She loves to bring a modern approach to a traditional design, fortunately for the city of Lexington, there are several traditional homes just waiting to be spruced up and modernized while still preserving the history of Lexington and Kentucky. Alex believes the key to a successful design experience is developing a strong connection with her clients. In the end, Alex should feel like a new lifelong best friend.
In her free time, you’ll probably find Alex with two dogs attached to her hip or riding her horse, especially competing in eventing competitions. Like most she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and unlike most, practicing hot yoga. If you want to see her on a summer weekend, you better meet her at the lake! She is newly engaged to her boyfriend of six years, so be sure to congratulate her if you see her!

Ten years ago, Nicole made the decision to move to Lexington after living in Atlanta, Georgia her whole life. She received her Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts with a concentration in Interior Design at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Over the years, Nicole rounded out her experience by working in many different areas of interior design. However, she’s spent over 10 years focusing on high-end residential remodeling and design, making her an expert for our clients at BACK.
Nicole prides herself on creating practical, functional spaces that allow her clients to wake up every morning in a home they love, and specifically a home that feels warm and elegant. Her attention to detail, self-motivation and hard work have continually strengthened her skills in space planning, color, fabric, furniture selections and accessories. Although Nicole has the experience and skills, she values her clients’ ideas and aspirations and makes it her mission to capture the concepts they envision for their spaces. She feels that everyone should feel as though their home reflects their needs, but also their unique personalities that make them so special.
Nicole takes ownership of her projects from conception to completion. Meaning, that throughout the entire remodeling process Nicole is going to be there to help her clients through the entire process. She considers herself a cheerleader, and strives to empower clients to make informed decisions regarding the products and styles that best suit them.
For Nicole, no rock is left unturned, right down to the lighting of a space. Sure, color, fabric, style is important, but it doesn’t do any good if the space isn’t well lit to display this beauty. Nicole is a certified ALA (American Lighting Association) Lighting Specialist who understands the importance of providing proper illumination throughout a space.
In her personal life, Nicole loves being a mom to her two children and spending time with her husband of 17 years. They have a chocolate lab and two cats. Nicole’s hobbies include exercising, dining out at all the great and unique places in Lexington, and of course shopping!
